Players are Exploiting an Overwatch Uprising Glitch to Beat the Game

A glitch in the Overwatch Uprising event is allowing players to circumvent some of the bots which appear during the payload segment of the round.

During the final part of the payload segment (where you have to push the payload to the door which explodes) during the Uprising event, several players have found that quickly running to the door will stop any Omnics from appearing during the segment. The game seems to register that player(s) have reached the checkpoint and so will not spawn in any bots, making that part of the map far easier to complete.

The glitch has been noted by many players on the Blizzard forums, the majority of whom are complaining about the glitch making the game unbalanced/unfair, and calling for Blizzard to patch the game so that it cannot be exploited:

The Uprising event has been plagued with problems since its release, including server issues when it was first released, and login issues occurring over the Easter weekend. However, the servers do appear to be more stable as of today, and less players have been reporting issues since the weekend. The event has also been very well received, with players praising the twist on a King’s Row payload event, as well as praising the comic which pre-empted the update’s release. Today was also a good day for Overwatch fans who also play Heroes, as Heroes of the Storm received two Overwatch goodies in the form of Genji and a Hanamura map.

So far, there has been no official word from Blizzard re the glitch/exploit, but considering that players have notified them via the forums and also via social media, it’s safe to assume that they are aware of the issue, and are also potentially working on a fix.
