Piranha Plant Now Available In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Potted plant pugilism.

Smash Bros Ultimate

UPDATE: It would appear that the inclusion of Piranha Plant as part of the Smash roster has led to a glaring issue. Trying to use the botanical brawler in All-Star Smash has a chance of corrupting your save file. Even if you have the cloud saves from the Nintendo Switch Online subscription, it’s better to be safe than sorry. Tread carefully, Smashers.

ORIGINAL STORY: Update 2.0.0 has gone live for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and free character Piranha Plant is now available to play for those who pre-ordered the game and received their code. If you’ve bought Smash Bros. and haven’t received your code yet, check the official Nintendo website right here for more details. If you miss your chance, the Plant boy will be available as separate DLC at a later date.

The new update also adds a new feature that allows up to four players to tackle the Spirit Board missions together, which is great if you’re struggling with one or two high rank Spirits. Time to just throw warm bodies at the problem. The update includes some gameplay and balance changes, along with changes to various fighters (those buffs for your boy Incineroar look nice), and you can get more details about the rest of the patch notes below:
