A dead good game.

It’s been a long wait for the console port of the broadly acclaimed Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire, but we now have a concrete release date for the PS4 and Xbox One versions: January 28th, 2020.

Available in either a Standard or Ultimate Collector’s Edition, Pillars of Eternity II features the ability to switch between classic real-time or turn-based as you journey through over 100 hours of gameplay in Obdisian’s world.

Developed by Obsidian with publishing duties falling to THQ Nordic despite the former’s Xbox acquisition, the Ultimate Collector’s Edition will feature the following for €129.99/$129.99/£119.99:

– Game: Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire [including the 5.0 PC patch], and all DLCs: Beast of Winter, The Forgotten Sanctum, Seeker, Slayer, Survivor
– 10″/25cm Od Nua Statue
– Spacepig Keychain
– Metal-optic 3D Sticker
– Premium Box

Here’s a quick glance at what’s included.

Interestingly, though the image above features a Switch version, there was no note of it within the press release from THQ Nordic. We will seek some clarification and update this when we get some; a Switch version has already been pencilled in for 2020.

Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire on PC currently sits on a very handsome 88 on Metacritic. The console ports of the original game were also received exceedingly well, so here’s hoping they can replicate that for the second game, which we are big fans of.
