In celebration of the big yellow dot’s 40th Anniversary, Bandai Namco have announced a brand new Pac-Man game. It’s called Pac-Man Mega Tunnel Battle, it’s a battle royale-inspired take on the iconic game and it’s set to launch first on Google Stadia.

A Stadia First Launch?
Aye, it’s a bit surprising, but the official press release from Bandai sheds more light on why. Mega Tunnel Battle uses Google’s cloud gaming platform to create a 64 player multiplayer experience across an interconnected grid of Pac-Man mazes. Players will need to navigate the grid and use a variety of new power-ups to survive the other players and claim victory.
When Can We Play It?
Today, if you have Stadia anyway. An exclusive demo is live today that’ll be playable across all Stadia-supported devices. The full game will launch on November 17th, but it’s not clear what the status of other potential platforms is at this time. Still, this sounds like a decent way to honour Pac-Man’s incredible legacy by using the character in something a bit more modern.
