For obvious reasons, Ecchi anime don’t prioritize the story, but there are a bunch of series that make an exception and keep a lid on the fan service aspect to some extent. High School DxD and Overflow are two that come to mind, although out of the two, one has already got four seasons, while we haven’t got a whiff of Overflow: Season 2.
Overflow’s first season arrived in January 2020, and the wait for a follow-up has now stretched beyond six years. For anyone hoping to see Overflow: Season 2, however, there’s some news.
When Is Overflow: Season 2 Coming Out?
Overflow: Season 2 has no confirmed release date, and we could not find an official announcement confirming that a sequel is in production.
The latest news listed on the anime’s official website is a December 19, 2025 announcement of a rerun on Tokyo MX and BS11, beginning with the first episode. This concerns the existing series, rather than a second season.
There is also no verified cancellation announcement in the official updates reviewed. That leaves the sequel unconfirmed, with neither a production schedule nor a release window to report. Any specific date circulating online should be treated as speculation unless it comes with an announcement from the production team.

What Could Overflow: Season 2 Be About?

Which Studio Is Making Overflow: Season 2?
No animation studio has been announced for a second season.
The original adaptation was animated by Studio Hōkiboshi, with Rei Ishikura directing. However, its involvement in the first season does not confirm that the same team would return for a sequel.
Until a new production is announced, claims about a returning studio, director or cast remain unverified.
Where Will Overflow: Season 2 Be Aired?
No broadcasters or streaming services have been confirmed for Overflow: Season 2.
The first season originally aired on Tokyo MX with a censored version, and sometime later, the uncensored version arrived on the Ecchi anime website Comic Festa.
Accordingly, you should find all episodes of Overflow: Season 2 on Comic Festa when the anime releases, whereas a TV censored release may happen as well, but we’ll have to wait for confirmation on that.
A sequel could follow a similar distribution model, but its streaming platforms, international availability and television plans would all need a separate announcement.
