The last batch of games with PlayStation Plus may not boast the AAA offerings that some might have been hoping for, but they’re too very different and pretty fun experiences all the same. There’s even room for one of 2018’s underrated hits to come to the fore.
As the newest game, Onrush is arguably the headliner. A racing game that isn’t a racing game, Onrush is a nice slice of multiplayer mayhem that didn’t really set any of the charts ablaze when it launched. While it’s not quite as good as its inspirations (Motorstorm and Burnout being the obvious ones), it’s a sugar rush of a game worth playing if it’s “free”.
The more critically-acclaimed game of December 2018 is Soma from the horror maestros over at Frictional Games. Set deep underwater with you playing as a test subject who wakes up to ruins, it’s a brooding and contemplative horror that’s more than its jump scares. You can also turn off all of the baddies if it’s just a stylish walkabout you want.
Lastly, don’t let this one pass you by. Iconoclasts is a long in the making 2D adventurer that has enchanted everyone who’s played it. You can download it on Vita and enjoy cross-buy with PS4, or vice versa.
The full line-up:
SOMAÂ – PS4
Onrush – PS4
Steredenn – PS3
Steins;Gate – PS3Â
Iconoclasts – Vita, PS4
Papers, Please – Vita
These games will be available from December 4th. Remember: you need to be an active PlayStation Plus subscriber to download and continue playing these games, so they aren’t technically free. What are you looking forward to playing most?
