Only Murders In The Building: Season 3 will start airing on August 8, 2023. Hulu already renewed the series for a third season while Season 2 was still running. The release date was initially announced by Steve Martin and Martin Short at the Walt Disney Theater. Unfortunately, patrons were not allowed to record that event.
Clearer evidence is present in the official Only Murders In The Building Twitter account. They’ve released a ton of promotional material for the third season, most of which contains the release date.
A short teaser trailer for Season 3 is already out.
Hulu isn’t the only place you can catch it though, as Only Murders In The Building: Season 3 will also be coming to Disney+ on the same date.
Will The Cast Return For Only Murders In The Building: Season 3?
Only Murders In The Building just isn’t the same without Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez. Thankfully, all three of them will be staying for Only Murders In The Building: Season 3. Look no further than the promotional materials and teaser that feature all three of them.
Not just that, a few new big names will play significant roles in Season 3. Namely, Meryl Streep and Paul Rudd, the latter being teased in the Season 2 finale.
The only cast member from previous seasons confirmed to be absent in Season 3 is Nathan Lane as Teddy Dimas. He confirms this in an interview with ET Canada. Lane is currently busy with other projects, although he says he hopes to return sometime in the future.
What Is Only Murders In The Building: Season 3 About?
The official plot for Only Murders In The Building: Season 3 hasn’t been revealed yet. However, the Season 2 finale and the teaser do provide some clues pertaining to the plot.
Weirdly enough, Only Murders In The Building: Season 3 might take place mostly outside the building. The trio and Ben Glenroy, Paul Rudd’s character, were in a theater outside the Arconia during the season finale. Just as Ben was about to start the play, he collapses and apparently dies.
Of course, they could easily tie it back to the Arconia by having Ben be a tenant in the apartment. Or, maybe the suspect in the murder themself is from the Arconia.
Regardless, the main plot of Only Murders In The Building: Season 3 will most likely revolve around Ben Glenroy’s death.
