NXT North American Championship Unveiled

The brand new NXT North American Championship has been unveiled as six competitors vie to become the first holder this Saturday at NXT TakeOver: New Orleans.

Sporting a mahogany brown strap and large round front and sideplates, the North American Championship has the look of more older, traditional wrestling titles. A more refined style and air is in contrast to the gaudy and garish designs of other WWE and NXT championships.

The developmental brand’s new championship was revealed on Twitter by Triple H. The first champion will have to survive a six man ladder match to make history.

Adam Cole, Killian Dain, EC3, Velveteen Dream, Lars Sullivan and Ricochet are the sextet who will be risking it all for some sweet championship gold.

NXT now has a full spectrum of active championships, with a leading title, tag titles and a woman’s belt. Of late the United Kingdom Championship, currently held by Pete Dunne, has been defended on the yellow brand.

EC3’s debut and entrance into the TakeOver bout was confirmed on last week’s NXT broadcast; the former Impact star interrupting William Regal’s planned on-screen unveiling of the championship.

Newly-signed Ricochet, already turning heads since his NXT debut in February, was revealed to be the sixth and final entrant into what promises to be one of the matches of 2018.
