NXT’s first ever live show on their new home of USA Network hit all the right notes. NXT showcased their entire roster in several star-studded matches, including a massive North American Championship match between Velveteen Dream and The Undisputed Era’s Roderick Strong. NXT UK performers were also in attendance, including the WWE UK Champ, WALTER, who was faced down by Kushida in a tense encounter.
In the first hour’s main event, Roddy Strong battled the Velveteen Dream in the conclusion of their heated rivalry. After months of battling with the other title holders, Undisputed Era finally hold all the gold in NXT, as Strong defeated Velveteen after an incredible title fight. Era are well and truly at the top of their game as the leaders of the NXT brand on USA.
Matt Riddle and Killian Dain took to the ring in the second half of the show, battling all across the arena in an explosive brawl. The entire NXT locker room hit the ringside area and showed everyone on the USA Network what exactly to expect in the coming future. Dain and ‘The Original Bro’ will collide in a rematch next week, with the added stipulation of the winner getting a future championship opportunity against Adam Cole.
Overall, a fantastic premiere for the developmental brand. NXT fired on all cylinders to make sure they got off on the right through with the TV audience, and with the sheer amount of talent on display, it would surprise me if anyone was left not wanting more.
