Following last week’s chaotic conclusion to NXT’s premiere on the USA Network, Matt Riddle and Killian Dain battled in a street fight with the added stipulation of the winner getting a shot at Adam Cole’s NXT Championship on next week’s episode.
‘The Original Bro’ brought the fight to the former SAnitY heavy, battling all over the arena and causing absolute mayhem. Dain did everything he possibly could, even putting the former UFC fighter through a wall, but eventually succumbed to the Fujiwara Armbar as Matt Riddle took the title shot home.
Riddle celebrated in front of the Full Sail audience and ended the episode staring down the NXT Champion in the middle of the ring. When Cole attempted to attack his challenger, Riddle locked in the armbar once again and forced the champ to tap. Is this a tale of things to come?
In other NXT news, Kushida teamed with Breezango to face the team of Imperium, further hyping his future clash with WALTER for the United Kingdom Championship. Dakota Kai also made her long-awaited return and defeated NXT mainstay Tayanara Conti in a competitive match.
