NXT News: Finn Balor Turns Heel & NXT UK Stars Debut

Wait what?

Finn Balor shocked the world a few weeks back by making a huge comeback on the NXT brand. Balor made his intentions clear when he interrupted Adam Cole’s championship victory over Matt Riddle, leading many to believe that Finn was going to be the end of the Undisputed Era’s iron grip over the promotion. We were wrong.

This week, Balor once again left the world in awe when he viciously attacked Johnny Gargano during a face-off with The Undisputed Era. Balor rocked the former NXT Champion with a Pele Kick, then watched on as Adam Cole and pals picked the bones. Gargano was stretched out of Full Sail after Balor hit the exclamation point of a 1916 on the entrance ramp.

Whether this means Finn Balor has fully aligned himself with The Undisputed Era is down to debate but I think we can all agree on us not seeing this one coming. A heel Balor is something we have yet to see under the WWE umbrella, so this should be a really interesting run for ‘The Extraordinary Man’.

Balor/Gargano is destined to be a barn-burner, just as much as a minor feud that is brewing between Cameron Grimes and NXT UK standout, Tyler Bate. Bate made his first appearance on the rebooted NXT, showing up alongside his British Strong Style buddy Pete Dunne. Bate watched on as Cameron Grimes did battle with Matt Riddle, suffering his first loss since debuting on Fox.

Grimes immediately hit the ringside area and blamed Tyler for his loss. Bate, not being one to take anyone’s sour grapes, nailed Grimes with a huge Bop & Bang combo, setting up this huge match for the near future.
