In a recent interview with BBC 5live’s “Game On” podcast, Disco Elysium’s art director Aleksander Rostov let slip the information that the developers ZA/UM are working on a Nintendo Switch port.
During the podcast, which you can listen to right here, Rostov stated that he was currently working on design documents for the game’s UI on the Switch, and he even jokingly commented that the interview was actually distracting him from working on said port: This interview is, at this very moment, interrupting me from writing up design documentation for the user interface and input systems for the Switch port”. The game’s narrative lead, Helen Hindpere, went on to say that it’s “going to happen soon”.
Disco Elysium is one of the most decorated and celebrated RPGs in recent memory, taking home 3 awards in the 2020 BAFTA Game Awards, along with four additional awards at The Game Awards 2019. While it’s only been available on PC for now, a move to the Nintendo Switch would allow more players to experience such an incredible game. Would you play Disco Elysium on the Nintendo Switch?
