Nintendo Announces Dr. Mario World Release Date

And boy is it a free-to-play game, for better or worse.

Dr. Mario World

Nintendo have announced that their next mobile game, Dr. Mario World, will be launching on iOS and Android devices on July 10th, 2019, with pre-registration available right now. The news also comes with a new trailer that showcases more details about the game. Check it out below.

The trailer confirms that players will tackle over a hundred levels from across 5 different worlds, with more coming in the future updates. You’ll also be able to play as multiple characters, like Dr. Yoshi or Dr. Bowser, with each character possessing their own unique abilities that’ll help clear out those pesky viruses. Remember, Bowser might be a bit of a villain, but he knows the importance of vaccinations.

That said, Dr. Mario World usage of stamina seems a bit egregious. Playing a level costs stamina, and in order to refill stamina, you either have to wait half an hour or purchase Diamonds using real money. While the pricing shown in the trailer seems fair, and the game is free-to-play after all, we’ll have to wait and see how intrusive the game’s monetisation really is. We’ll find out more when Dr. Mario World launches in a couple of weeks.
