Nicolas Cage Reportedly Joins The Cast of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse

Spider Man

Sources at DiscussingFilm have reportedly discovered that Nicolas Cage has signed on to voice the popular comic character, Spider-Man Noir. This variant of Spider-Man first appeared in Spider-Man Noir #1 in 2009 and has since appeared in numerous adaptations including the Ultimate Spider-Man series.

Nicolas Cage is no stranger to superhero films with plans to provide the voice of Superman in Teen Titans GO! To the Movies, releasing August 3rd 2018. Some of you may also remember him starring in the critically panned Ghost Rider, and its sequel Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance as the titular character. Fortunately for Cage, his role in Kick-Ass as vigilante Big Daddy was met with a very positive reception.

Spider-Man into the Spider-Verse will be an animated adventure directed by Bob Persichette, Peter Ramsay (director of Rise of the Guardians) and Rodney Rothman that follows the events of Spider-Man travelling through a variety of dimensions to stop a new threat. He’ll cross paths with different versions of himself in the process which may be the key to saving the universe. The film has a lot of names attached already, including the likes of Shameik Moore, Hailee Steinfeld, Mahershala Ali and Jake Johnson. Nicolas Cage is a welcome addition to this cast.

Spider-Man into the Spider-Verse releases on December 14th 2018. Do you like this possible casting or would you have preferred somebody else? Drop us a comment with your thoughts below.
