New Venom Trailer Released, Brings A Lot More Venom

Venom movie

Sony’s upcoming Venom has received a brand new trailer that has heard the complaints of viewers from the last trailer, and now features a lot more of the titular character.

The trailer puts heavy emphasis on Eddie and Venom struggling to come to terms with each other, and paints Carlton Drake, leader of the symbiote testing in a much more villainous role.

Venom, directed by Ruben Fleischer (Zombieland, 30 Minutes or Less, Gangster Squad) is set for release on October 5th 2018 and stars Tom Hardy, Michelle Williamson and Riz Ahmed in leading roles. Woody Harrison will also star in a smaller undisclosed role.

The film is written by Scott Rosenberg, Jeff Pinkner, Kelly Marcel and Will Beal. A major topic of discussion has regarded whether the film is set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, however despite the film being based upon the Marvel character, Venom does not share its existence in the MCU and will be a standalone property of Sony. However, depending on the reception to the film, Sony are interested in turning the film into a franchise with a sequel that already has a screenplay written.
