New Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One Trailer Showcases Detective Gameplay

How to be a super sleuth.

Sherlock Holmes

Frogwares have revealed a brand new gameplay trailer for their upcoming detective origin story/adventure Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One, which will see players control a young Holmes attempting to solve the death of his mother. Check out the trailer at the top of the page.

What’s The Plot Of Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One?

Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One puts players in the shoes of a 21-year-old Sherlock, who’s barely gotten his feet wet when it comes to detective work. Unfortunately, he’ll need to put together whatever skills he does have, as he’s travelled to the fictional island of Cordona in the Mediterranean in order to solve the case surrounding the death of his mother. Way to jump in at the deep end I guess.

How Will Investigating Work In Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One?

It would appear that looking into the case and talking to the citizens of Cordona will be incredibly open-ended. The trailer and press release promise that you’ll be in complete control of how you manage your investigation. It’ll be up to you to decide when you’ve found enough clues, who your suspects are and who you’ll pin the crime on, and regardless of whether you’re right or wrong, the game will continue regardless. Make your choice and live with the consequences.

When Can I Get My Hands On Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One?

Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One will be available on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X | S on November 16th, with a release for PS4 and Xbox One planned for afterwards. Pre-orders for the game are live now, and all pre-orders will come with a host of additional in-game content, along with the full release of Sherlock Holmes: Crime & Punishments for free immediately.
