Prime Gaming is another Prime service included with an Amazon Prime membership. The service gives its members access to special in-game loot, “free” games that are available to download, and other awesome perks.
You should also link your Twitch account with your Amazon Prime account to get the most out of what Prime Gaming offers, as many of the service’s perks are geared toward Twitch. There is even a Prime icon in the Twitch menu bar so you can access the perks directly from the app.
While all of these perks sound great, you might want to know when you can expect to see new games on Prime Gaming. Luckily, new free games are added quite frequently.
New Prime Gaming Games Release Dates
You can access all sorts of amazing games through Prime Gaming, and the best part is that they’re free to get. You just claim the games you want and download them to your computer.
Typically, new free games are added every month on the first day. With this being said, it can’t hurt to check every so often throughout the month to ensure that you aren’t missing any good deals.
You can also see when an offer ends by checking how much time is left. Each offer says “Ends in…” above the claim link and below the offer’s picture.
Prime Gaming Cost & Sign Up
There is no individual fee to access Prime Gaming. It’s an add-on service included with an existing Amazon Prime membership, similar to Prime Music.
The cost of an Amazon Prime membership is $12.99 / £7.99 per month. You can save money and pay less in the long run if you get an annual Prime subscription, which is only $119 / £79 per year. You can sign up to Prime here.
Once you have an Amazon Prime membership, you can set up Prime Gaming. To sign up for the service, you’ll want to head to the Prime Gaming page.
Click sign-in in the top right corner. Use your Amazon Prime account log-in information to sign in.
Once you’ve signed in, you’ll be sent back to Prime Gaming. Click “Activate Prime Gaming” in the top right corner, and you’re ready to go.
To access in-game loot and make the most of your Prime Gaming experience, you’ll also need to link other gaming accounts, such as Twitch.
What Happens to My Prime Gaming Games When I Cancel?
If you need to cancel your Amazon Prime account, you’re probably concerned with what will become of the games you downloaded using Prime Gaming. Luckily, you’ll still get to keep them.
Any of the free games that you claimed while using Prime Gaming are yours, even if you cancel your Amazon Prime membership. Once you have downloaded them to your computer, you can play them at any time.
If you want to get new games in the future, you’ll have to get an Amazon Prime membership again, but all of your previously claimed Prime Gaming games are yours to keep.
