NetherRealm Studios, creators of Injustice 2, have today revealed the gameplay trailer for the game’s sixth DLC character, Dark Horse’s Hellboy, with the trailer showing the demonic denizen of Hell laying the smack down on Atrocitus, Scarecrow and more.
As far as gameplay is concerned, Hellboy looks to be a close range powerhouse, utilising his Right Hand of Doom for some strong combos and command grabs. Of course, if your opponent wants to play at full screen, Hellboy also has access to his trusty revolver, a few gadgets from the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense, and a leap that closes the distance effectively. He appears to be quite versatile in combat, and it will be interesting to see what players can do with him when he launches.
Hellboy will be available from November 14th for any players who purchased the Injustice 2 Ultimate Edition, the Ultimate Pack or Fighter Pack 2. For players just looking to buy Mr Big Hand himself, he will be available to everyone else from 21st November.
Hellboy will be joining a roster packed with DC’s greatest heroes and villains, along with Sub-Zero and Raiden from the Mortal Kombat Universe. We reviewed the game back when it launched in May, and we bloody loved it. And by we, I mean me. In that review, we said that:
