New Games Out This Week: State of Decay 2, Detroit, Dark Souls & More

Detroit Beyond Human

Another week, another massive batch of new games for you to stare lovingly at and never buy because you have 14000 games in your Steam library thanks to Humble that you haven’t touched. State of Decay 2? No thanks, NHL 16 is calling out to me.

It’s a diverse week, to be sure. The Xbox gets another console exclusive to add to its scant lineup, Mega Man makes a return, and two new runner games hit the shelves, even though that strange subgenre has probably had its day. I Hate Running Backwards is probably the best pick, though, thanks to it featuring Devolver Digital characters.

Without further ado, here’s everything to expect today, Thursday, and Friday. Today is certainly the day if you’re looking to snag a few games; just look at all of them.

Our Picks

Detroit: Become Human

Detroit: Become Human, purely to see if David Cage is able to rein it the hell in at any point.

Dark Souls Remastered because revisiting trauma is always fun for everyone.

– I Hate Running Backwards for doing something at least a little interesting with the runner concept.

– Either of the Mega Man Legacy Collections for a stark reminder for how bad you are at games.

– If Konami can forget about their franchises, gamers certainly can’t. Look to Bloodstained to scratch the Castlevania itch.

– Despite some poor reviews, it’s going to be interesting to see how a bigger budget and larger scale changed the experience for State of Decay 2.

– H1Z1: Battle Royale to find the next big YouTube star in their toxic heyday before it’s swept under the rug when they find fame.

Tennis World Tour because Virtua Tennis and Top Spin are important.

– Baobabs Mausoleum Ep.1: Ovnifagos Don’t Eat Flamingos just for the name alone.
