Netherrealm Offering Apology Gift For Mortal Kombat 11 Players

A little apology for those difficult Towers of Time.

Netherrealm Studios revealed last week that they’d be releasing a Mortal Kombat 11 patch that would lower the difficulty of the controversial Towers of Time mode. They’ve already released a hotfix that addressed the difficulty but clearly a bigger patch is needed. As way of an apology, the upcoming patch will also include plenty of currency, or kurrency, that players can spend in the Krypt or in the Premium Shop.

The apology gift will include 500,000 Koins, 500 Hearts, 1,000 Soul Fragments and 1,000 Time Krystals. Time Krystals are the premium currency used in Mortal Kombat 11, and they’re used in the Premium Shop to buy whatever random kosmetic items are available to buy at the time. The patch will also increase the rewards earned from Towers of Time, so you should have more money to spend in the future.

In our review of Mortal Kombat 11, we pointed out that the Towers of Time mode and the Krypt are two areas of the game that need addressing, so it’s good to see that Netherrealm Studios are trying to fix these problems as quickly as possible.

The problem, at least when [Towers of Time] first launched, is that the mode was needlessly difficult for not a lot of reward. The majority of fights eschew the standard 1v1 fight, favouring something more reminiscent of a Marvel vs Capcom game, with off screen projectiles and assists cluttering the screen, not allowing you to get any offense in.
