Mustafa Ali Returns On RAW

Mustafa Ali was one of the two superstars that made a huge return on last night’s episode of RAW, this time as a babyface to confront the duo of Austin Theory and The Miz. Ali, who hasn’t been featured on WWE Television since losing to Mansoor in Saudi Arabia, was once considered a possible top-tier talent for WWE, briefly flirting with the championship picture in 2019 in an incredible triple threat match against Daniel Bryan and Kevin Owens at Fast Lane.

Since then, Ali has been transitioned between meagre role to meagre role, most notably appearing alongside the now-defunct stable, Retribution to cause chaos and expose secrets. That went absolutely nowhere, as did his partnership with the aforementioned Mansoor.

Theory and Miz didn’t waste any time in bringing up all of Ali’s past failures and indiscretions with the folks backstage, but this only fuelled Ali’s renewed passion to win a singles title for the first time. Ali then entered a match against The Miz, which he won, marking his first victory in over eight months, only to then be attacked by Tommaso Ciampa, presumably setting up their feud for the near future.

It’s great to see Mustafa Ali featured on television once again, especially after the social media drama that included Mustafa posting about his denied release. Here’s hoping that WWE manage to make a success story out of Ali, who remains one of the most naturally charismatic guys on the entire roster.
