Soedesco have today announced that they will be publishing Team Junkfish’s survival horror favourite Monstrum for release on consoles on May 22nd, 2020.

Coming to PS4, Xbox One, and Switch, Monstrum is a unique spin on the genre that features procedurally generated levels and permadeath, meaning that you’re never quite sure how your escape from the derelict cargo ship will go.

The console version will be available digitally; physical copies are due to release at a later date.

Here’s the console announce trailer:

And the synopsis:

In Monstrum, players awaken trapped on a massive, derelict cargo ship with no knowledge of how they got there. Hunted by a horrific predator, they must scavenge the ship for clues and tools to find a means of escape. Left completely defenseless against a prowling beast; the only way to survive is to distract, hide, or slow the creature down before running for your life. Players only have one chance; permadeath and no save points means that once killed, they’ll have to start from scratch – so try not to get caught!

Monstrum, initially released on Steam in 2015, currently has a rating of Very Positive from 1,720 reviews. Its developers, Team Junkfish, went on to release Attack of the Earthlings in 2018.
