Super Rare Games are at it again, as they’ve teamed with Beautiful Glitch and Those Awesome Guys to create a physical version of Monster Prom XXL for the Nintendo Switch, only this time they’ve outdone themselves. Along with the standard physical release, there’s a huge Collector Edition to boot, and it is packed with exclusive goodies.
Wait, What’s Monster Prom XXL?
It’s pretty much what it sounds like: a dating sim about taking monsters to prom. The catch with Monster Prom XXL is that it’s a multiplayer dating sim, meaning that up to four players can try to compete for the affections of the six available monsters in the game. The game features fantastic art and witty writing, along with over 1000 possible scenarios, each with multiple potential outcomes. It’s safe to say you’ll be playing through this one a lot if you want to experience everything.
So About Those Physical Editions Then?
There’s three versions of Monster Prom XXL to pick from. The standard version includes the game, a full colour manual, an exclusive sticker and a trading card pack, while the Steelbook version includes everything from the standard version, plus a steelbook and exclusive postcard. The standard version will retail for approximately £27, and there’s 5000 units available. There’s only 500 for the Steelbook version though.
Then there’s the big one. The Collector’s Edition, which is the biggest offering in Super Rare Games’ history, features the full game (obviously), the steelbook case, a 68 page yearbook with plenty of artwork and stickers, a temporary tattoo so you can relive being a kid again, a collector’s pin badge, 10 physical instant camera photos, a collectible driving license that is not legal anywhere, a high school diploma and two packs of trading cards. It’ll set you back around £75, but there’s only 1500 units available.
When Can We Order Them?
All versions go on sale on the Super Rare Games website on October 29th at 6pm BST/2pm ET/11am ET, with shipping available worldwide. The games will then be shipped out soon after, so you won’t have long to wait for your copy.
