Capcom have today announced that their upcoming Iceborne expansion for the popular RPG Monster Hunter World will be receiving two PS4 exclusive betas over the next two weeks, with the first scheduled to start this Friday.

The first beta will commence on Friday 21st June at 11am BST and will last until Monday 24th June at 11am BST, and will be exclusive to PS Plus subscribers only. The second beta will be available to all PS4 users, Plus or otherwise, and will last from Friday 28th June at 11am BST until Monday 1st July at, you guessed it, 11am BST, and the base game isn’t required to participate in the beta.

As for the beta’s contents, you can sample three different hunts, with the Great Jagras hunt from the base game included for newcomers, along with the brand-new horned wyvern Banbaro and the returning Tigrex. Players can test out all 14 weapon classes with their new abilities, along with the new Slinger tools like the Clutch Claw grapple mechanic. Even the most hardened of Monster Hunter veterans will find new content in this beta.

Iceborne will be launching on PS4 and Xbox One on September 6th 2019, with a PC release to follow by the end of the year. The base game is required to play Iceborne, and although you can use your new tools and abilities right away, you’ll need to finish the main storyline and reach Hunter Level 16 before you can access the new quests. Will you be playing the Monster Hunter World: Iceborne beta? Sound off in the comments.
