Metal Gear Solid 3 Event Coming To Metal Gear Survive

Metal Gear Survive

Konami has announced that Metal Gear Survive will be getting a new co-op event inspired by many people’s favourite MGS game, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater.

From April 10th, the new event, ‘The Encounter 1964’, will allow buddies to pair up and unlock cosmetic items inspired by the world of Snake Eater, including Naked Snake’s fatigues (a weird phrase out of context), EVA’s jumpsuit, and a crocodile cap.

In addition, a new cassette tape detailing the Shagohod will be available to listen to during the event.

These unlockables are part of a series of ongoing events for the post-launch of Metal Gear Survive with this event running from now until April 10th.

Metal Gear Survive is the first post-Kojima update to the world of Metal Gear. It’s been polarising, to say the least, which was evidenced by our review:

“Thought it’s not totally devoid of positives, Metal Gear Survive suffers the curse of being wholly unremarkable in pretty much every way. Bland survival gameplay, unoriginal ideas and unresponsive melee combat make for a tedious experience. Metal Gear Survive is certainly a functional game, but someone forgot to add the “fun”.”
