There’s another Patriot Union meeting tomorrow, is everyone going? Need someone to go down to Triumph Square with, I don’t think I can bare to listen to more Administration back patting on my own. I’ve been feeling so drained lately.
Went out to pick up more meds for Saul today, I swear he isn’t taking them, the guy seems to look worse and worse every day. My plan is to fill the entire hut with little pill bottles until he can’t get away from taking them. I feel that through looking after him, I’m looking after Galen, is that weird?
On the way down to the pharmacy I saw the new Patriot Academy, well, maybe its new, maybe its always been there and I just haven’t noticed. Its such a strange looking building, all the little kids were out in the yard, dressed in their grey uniforms. They looked kind of adorable, so I hung around to watch for a few minutes. They seemed so harmless, but we’ve all heard the stories. Kids beating up unregistered’s in the street, turning their parents in for looking at “Subversive content” online. You wonder what goes on behind those innocent little eyes. What are the teachers showing them in that building?
I felt the baby move and I had to walk away, partly out of fear of them noticing me. Is my child going to turn out like that? Is my child going to look for an excuse to report me? Makes me consider fleeing to the countryside. I guess with The War the countryside isn’t safe anymore though.
I couldn’t help thinking about the academy on the way back home. I’d seen a few of those kids out on the streets in their little uniforms and they’ve always seemed so quiet, observant, I’m almost nervous crossing the street with them. I heard Denise’s kids turned her into C.P after she refused to take them to a Young Patriots meeting. We never saw her again after last Christmas.
There was something on the TV about Washington tonight, I turned the volume up and hoped they’d say something about the survivors. Was just about the effort to rebuild the industrial sector, about how many millions of dollars we’d lost from the attack. CNN didn’t even think to mention what happened to the people, the streets look deserted, apart from C.P and soldiers. I’m starting to think Galen isn’t coming back.
