It’s finally happened. Netflix have officially revealed the release date for the upcoming Marvel series The Punisher, and there’s not long to wait. Pencil it in your calendars, book the days off work and tell your family to piss off that day; the full series will be available to stream on November 17th.

This announcement came in the form of a new trailer, which gave us some more information about the plot of the series. Some, not a lot. Netflix has been tight-lipped about the release date for a while now, it wasn’t like they’d blow the entire plot a month before the series comes out.

We now know that Frank’s former military comrades, led by Rawlins, are looking to silence him because of his involvement in some illegal overseas military operations. It would also seem like Frank isn’t the only target, as we see footage of Micro’s family being abducted and investigator Dinah Madini declaring that Frank knows something about her case. Still, it wouldn’t be a Punisher trailer without a bit of the old ultra violence, as we see Frank beating the crap out of his fair share of militaristic goons with Metallica’s One playing in the background once again.

The larger details of the plot and how all the characters come together is still under wraps, but the mix of gritty conspiracy and Castle’s trademark fury should make for compelling viewing once the series drops on November 17th. Check out the trailer for yourself and be sure to let us know your thoughts on The Punisher in the comments below.
