Marvel’s Midnight Suns: How To Unlock Hulk

Fallen Hulk

Marvel’s Midnight Suns has a really eclectic roster that is gradually added to over time, meaning that you have a steady trickle of new heroes to play with over the course of the campaign. The final character you can unlock is also one of its most powerful: Bruce Banner, otherwise known as Hulk when he gets a bit annoyed.

An antagonist for most of the game when he becomes his Fallen form after aligning himself with Lilith, Hulk is a formidable adversary but an even better teammate. Players can expect to spend anywhere from 45-60 hours playing through the story before they unlock him, though.

You will first encounter Hulk as an opponent in the Los Diablos mission, in which you need to just survive against him for four turns. This isn’t too tough a task, just try and do maximum damage without triggering his Enrage by dealing with all of the minions so you have enough Heroism for a Hero Combo to knock him down. You can’t beat him here or in the next encounter on the Backdoor mission, but you do get to use an Item on him in this one that causes Weak, meaning that your task is even easier.

To actually, definitively unlock Hulk in Marvel’s Midnight Suns, players have to complete the The Witch on Wundagore Mountain with Scarlet Witch around the 55-60 hour mark, depending on how much side content you’ve played. This is actually the easiest of all, as Wanda has an ability that can immediately KO anyone, including Hulk. Simply down Hulk using your strongest cards, purify him with a special card (redraw it if you need to lessen the debuff), then repeat this step another two times to defeat him.

Once you’ve completed the The Witch on Wundagore Mountain, Bruce will return with you to The Abbey. Speak to him once you get back, wait a day, then talk to him again out in the Yard to finally unlock the Hulk as a playable character. The best things come to those who wait.

Marvel’s Midnight Suns is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X & S.
