Margot Robbie and Nicole Kidman Join Fair and Balanced

Two big talents are on their way to the Fox News film Fair and Balanced. Variety first reported Kidman’s casting as the former anchorwoman Gretchen Carlson then Deadline also confirmed that Robbie will also join the film as a fictional associate producer.

Charlize Theron has already been cast as another former Fox alum, Megyn Kelly, and the film will center around the women of Fox News and their battle against Roger Ailes, who resigned as head of the corporation after sexual harassment allegations. It appears that Ailes will be an actual character in the film, not just an off-screen menacing shadow, but no news yet on who could play him.

Jay Roach is set to direct the film for Annapurna, and no release date is set as of yet. Deadline also added that Fair and Balanced is a working title at this point, so there is a possibility of a different title being used. The script is from Charles Randolph, who recently picked up an Academy Award for his work on The Big Short.

From the sounds of it, the film will likely be ready for release by late next year or 2020, and with these kind of talents involved, I wouldn’t shy away from award-worthy being an apt description of the film, especially when you have the likes of Kidman, Theron, and Robbie on-board already.
