Marc Webb To Direct A Live-Action Snow White Movie For Disney

Mirror, mirror on the wall, is Disney the greatest money-maker of them all?

Variety reports that Marc Webb, most famous for directing 500 Days of Summer and the two Amazing Spider-Man films, has been tapped to direct the upcoming live-action remake of Snow White and the Seven Dwarves.

The report also lists The Girl on the Train writer Erin Cressida Wilson handling the script for the film. Marc Platt, a nominated producer on La La Land, is on-board as well, and is bringing the Academy-Award winning duo of Benj Pasek and Justin Paul with him to write new songs for the film.

The news of a Snow White remake should be of no surprise to anyone. It’s been circulating around the rumor mill for several years, and with Aladdin making big bank at the box office over the four-day holiday weekend, I don’t see Disney slowing down anytime soon on more adaptations of their animated classics.

No release date is set for the film yet, but we know that Wilson will be tasked with expanding upon the 1938 animated film, in a similar vein to Disney’s live-action remakes of Aladdin and Beauty and the Beast.
