Like A Dragon: Ishin, despite being a remake of a PS4 game from 2014 only released in Japan, is more or less a brand new game for most. And as a new game released in 2023, you can expect that there’s pre-order DLC to get your hands on, as well as early access to the game on February 17th, 2023. If you’re wondering how to claim your pre-order DLC for Like A Dragon: Ishin, we have all the information.
Like A Dragon: Ishin Pre-Order DLC Pack
Luckily, the pre-order DLC for Ishin is pretty straightforward and easy to understand. Simply pre-order the game on any of the available platforms either physically or digitally and receive the following pre-order DLC pack, known as Japanese Swords & Cannon Set:
– Kijinmaru Kunishige, a dark sword with a white hilt
– Tsuyano Usukurenai, a sword soaked in blood
– Black Ship Cannon, a cannon taken from Western ships
There seems to be some confusion online that says that only pre-ordering the Deluxe Edition gets you this DLC, but that isn’t accurate. Pre-ordering any edition of the game gets you this additional content, the Deluxe Edition just has more of this special content included.
How To Redeem Your Like A Dragon: Ishin Pre-Order DLC Pack
The only thing that’s a little bit confusing about getting this DLC is the steps towards redeeming it.
If you bought the game physically, you should have a slip within the case with a code or a separate email from the retailer that you can redeem on PlayStation or Xbox storefronts. If you don’t have a code, be sure to check within your accounts of the platform that you purchased the game from.
However, if you pre-ordered the game digitally, no need to worry: The DLC will already be waiting for you when you start the game and applied automatically to your account.
How To Claim Your Pre-Order DLC
You are going to have to wait a little bit before you even get your hands on the pre-order DLC, however. Specifically, you need to wait until Chapter 2 before you can claim your bonuses, which should take around an hour or so.
Once you’ve reached Chapter 2, head downstairs in the inn and, before heading out, walk to the kitchen in the back and talk to Bakumatsu Bob, who is wearing make-up and what looks like a clown nose.

The extra content you have access to is marked by a yellow sign; yours should be called the Japanese Swords & Cannon Set.

Take that, then save once prompted and now feel free to use your new content from your inventory.
Like A Dragon: Ishin is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X & S.
