The DLC in Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth has been the subject of a lot of controversy ahead of the game’s launch, and rightly so, as a big piece of content, The Big Swell dungeon, and core RPG staple New Game + have been locked behind a paywall. Still, for those who’ve pre-ordered the game, or purchased one of the more expensive editions of Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth, you’ll need to know how to redeem your items.
In truth, your items should be automatically unlocked/available to you depending on the item in question. The inventory items such as the Resurrection Bolus items will be just added to your inventory, but for other items, you’ll need to unlock the corresponding mode/feature.
For instance, your bonus Sujimon items and monsters will only be available to you when you unlock the Sujimon Trainer minigame in Chapter 4. Jobs such as Tennis Ace and Linebacker, which require you to pre-order the game, become available to you once changing jobs becomes available in Chapter 5, while all your Dondoko Island items and resources will unlock when you finally visit Dondoko Island in Chapter 6.
As for The Big Swell and New Game +, you’ll need to finish the game to unlock those features, along with “buy the expensive version of the game”. The Big Swell will be available once you reload your save from the main menu, which will stick you into Premium Adventure. From there, you can challenge The Big Swell, a challenging dungeon with huge rewards. Finally, New Game + becomes an option on the main menu, with some higher difficulty options if you feel like an additional challenge.
If you want to check what DLC you own in-game, you can pause the game, head to your smartphone then select the Confirm Add-Ons buttons. This’ll give you a list of all the content that’s available to you, and where to go in order to claim it.
