Your party is only as strong as the bonds you make with its members, and Like A Dragon has always taken that mantra to heart. In Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth, the same is true, as players will need to increase their bond with their party members to unlock various benefits and new cutscenes via Drink Links. If you’re looking for the easiest ways to do that, this is what you need to know.
Increasing your bond is an important way to ensure you get the most out of your party members, as higher bonds will unlock Tag Team moves, combo attacks, the ability to strike downed opponents and stronger attacks when you knock an enemy into them. Bond Levels go up to 100, but you only really need to hit level 50 to get the main benefits, as every 10 levels up to 50, you’ll unlock a Drink Link event that solidifies your relationship with that party member.
The simplest ways to increase your bond with your party members is by winning fights with that person in your party, or by performing completing activities such as karaoke, darts or going out for a meal. Eating specific meal combos at certain restaurants will also trigger Table Talks, which can offer a big increase for certain party members depending on who’s involving. You’ll also trigger certain conversations as you’re exploring which function much like Table Talks, letting you enjoy a humourous conversation with your party.
As for quicker ways of earning huge bond points, the Bond Bingo feature is a new addition to Like A Dragon: IW that gives more insight into a character’s background. Nearly every party member has 16 different spots to fill on the Bond Bingo board that can be filled by going to a specific place (sometimes at a specific time) and triggering a conversation. These moments are marked on your map, so just check your map often and head to the pink icons. Once you’ve completed someone’s board, you’ll unlock the Walk And Talk Finale, which is one last conversation that yields huge rewards.
Finally, the fastest (but most expensive) method of raising bond levels is by visiting strip clubs/cabaret clubs, depending on if you’re in Hawaii or Yokohama. This will raise the bond for your entire party, though how much and for who depends on the girls you hire and the food and drink you order. Again, it’s an expensive process, so this’ll be something to check out towards the back half of the game.
Something to note about Bonds though is that Kazuma Kiryu, despite being a party member, doesn’t follow the same rules as other characters. His bond still goes to level 100, and he’ll unlock the same Tag Team moves and combo attacks that other party members learn, but there are no Drink Links or Bond Bingo for him. Instead, his bond increases during set moments within the story.
