If you’ve been without internet for the past month or so or just keep forgetting to press a couple of buttons, you better act fast. Today is the last day to download the “free” PlayStation Plus games for August 2018 before the selection is refreshed for September.
Mafia 3 is probably the highlight of August as it’s a fairly expansive game that’s also fairly new to effectively be given away. You play as a vigilante coming up against the mob in New Bordeaux, which typically entails doing the same thing over and again. The game’s pretty repetitive, though you might get something out of it if you go in with lowered expectations.
Dead By Daylight was August’s other highlight. An isometric multiplayer horror game, it’s one of the best of its kind for good reason. Matches are tense and often pulse-pounding, not helped by iconic horror legends hunting you down as your generator slowly does its thing. Dead By Daylight is great with friends, so get stabbing.
