Kingdom Hearts III Finally Has A Release Date

Kingdom Hearts 3 4

Okay, let’s be honest. We were all just a little skeptical when Kingdom Hearts III was announced. After years of rumors, speculation and fake announcements, Kingdom Hearts III was the subject of more internet folly than Elder Scrolls VI or Fallout 4 before it released.

However, after months of interviews with Square Enix, a gameplay trailer here and there and promises from the developers that the game was being worked on and nearly complete, fans started to get more and more anxious as they realized the return of the beloved franchise was real. All we needed for the dream to truly come true was a solid release date. Well today, we finally got just that.

The Kingdom Hearts Orchestra is on tour right now, showcasing live performances of some of the best tracks from the franchise. During the tour, Square Enix decided to keep the KH hype train chugging, taking to the official Kingdom Hearts Twitter and revealing what we’ve all been waiting for; the Kingdom Hearts III release date.

That’s right, Kingdom Hearts III is officially releasing for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on January 29, 2019. This news comes just a few days before the Square Enix E3 conference, which is when we expected to hear the news. Square definitely made thousands of fans happier than ever by revealing the release date earlier.

No other news was given on the game, but with Square Enix preparing to hold their E3 conference on June 11, we’re bound to get a more in-depth look at Kingdom Hearts III. Hopefully it will be enough to hold us off until the January 2019 release date.

For fans disappointed they’ll have to wait a bit longer, Square Enix did post a tweet on the KH Twitter apologizing for the wait and promising more trailers at E3 this year. And let’s not forget, this is an actual, real date for Kingdom Hearts III, which means we can all breathe a collective sigh of relief knowing that this time, it’s really coming.
