Killer Kart is a Horror Film About a Shopping Cart with a Grudge

Killer Kart

Do you remember a little film called Rubber which featured a homicidal car tyre? It was pure shlock, but dumb fun. Looks like the guys behind Killer Kart have been inspired enough to cast another inanimate object as a serial killer. This time out? A shopping cart is our antagonist.

In some ways, it does make sense. Whenever I see a stray shopping cart that’s been stolen from its home and cruelly abandoned near some woods, I am instantly filled with a sense of dread. Maybe it had a family. Perhaps it was just three days away from retirement. Whatever the case may be, I could hardly fault a mistreated shopping cart for going on a murder spree like it does in Killer Kart.

It’s a 15 minute short film which doesn’t spend any time to show the cart lying in wait, eagerly swallowing up coins that it can use to buy a gun. Not even five minutes in, it’s already wreaking havoc, causing panic amongst the employees of a supermarket. The way director James Feeney managed to make a mouth for the cart is quite ingenious, leading to a couple of cruel deaths.

If you have some time to kill, make sure you kill it with Killer Kart.
