He’s been on a bit of a tear lately and is even scheduled to face Brock Lesnar at a live event in Hawaii, but according to attendees at a house show, Kevin Owens could be put on the shelf with an injury during a match with Sami Zayn.

Having lost the match to Zayn’s Blue Thunderbomb, the referee reportedly threw up the ‘X’ sign, indicating that a competitor is legitimately injured. We saw it a while back when Finn Balor lost his NXT title to Samoa Joe, though there hasn’t been much confirmation (i.e. tweets from fans in attendance) that Owens is even injured, so there’s still hope it’s nothing.

It would be a crying shame if Owens would have to take some time out, especially considering how he’s the best damn thing about the company right now. He is so talented that he can even make fans interested in Byron Saxton purely by association. Here’s hoping that if he is laid off for some time, he can join the commentary team.

It’s not all bad for WWE, though. John Cena is back at the end of May, Seth Rollins should be back in mid-June, and Randy Orton is rumoured to return at the end of the same month. Here’s hoping KO isn’t the start of another injury hoodoo.
