Kazuchika Okada Debuts On AEW Dynamite

A few days from AEW and NJPW’s first-ever Forbidden Door pay-per-view event, a huge appearance stole the headlines coming out of Dynamite, that being one from ‘The Rainmaker’ himself, Kazuchika Okada. The former multi-time IWGP World Champion received a raucous reception from the AEW crowd as he came to the rescue of ‘Hangman’ Adam Page, who was in the midst of being double-teamed by Bullet Club members, Jay White and Adam Cole.

Okada and Page held off the duo of villains, sending them packing. This made way for a huge fatal-four-way to be announced for Forbidden Door, pitting all four men against one another with the IWGP World Championship on the line. With Okada now in the mix, this makes things very interesting.

AEW and NJPW seem to be pulling out all the stops for their first cross-promotional show, bringing in huge stars such as Okada is a great way to get all eyes on their product this coming Sunday. Arguably, this could be the biggest wrestling event of the year, depending on how the results go. Okada could now walk away with yet another IWGP World title, or even have it switch shows entirely with a win from either Cole or Page. A lot is on the line here.

Here’s hoping that this will be more than just a one-night-only deal for Okada in AEW, if the response is anything to go by, he’s a huge draw in the States.

Elsewhere on the show, Zack Sabre Jr. made his first AEW appearance, calling out whoever will be his hand-picked opponent at Forbidden Door. Malakai Black secured his spot in the All-Atlantic Championship match and Jon Moxley and Hiroshi Tanahashi stood tall over the team of Chris Jericho and Lance Archer.
