Will Bryan Danielson Face Zack Sabre Jr. At AEW Forbidden Door?

Medical says no.

Bryan Danielson is speculated to be wrestling against fellow technical guru, NJPW’s Zack Sabre Jr., at the upcoming AEW X NJPW Forbidden Door pay-per-view. However, for various reasons, the status of this match is currently up in the air, despite Sabre heavily teasing a match between the two as part of his backstage reaction to his match at Dominion.

Danielson has yet to be medically cleared since sustaining an injury as part of the Anarchy in the Arena match at Double or Nothing. The Blackpool Combat Club member is no stranger to waiting on the thumbs-up from doctors, but in this case it’s stinging more than usual. Originally, Danielson was suspected to only miss a couple weeks of action, that has since been extended.

‘The American Dragon’ is scheduled to appear live on Dynamite this week to address his situation for both Forbidden Door and Blood and Guts. It’s likely that if he is still unable to wrestle for his match against Suzuki-Gun’s ZSJ, then he’ll confirm so as part of his promo. You’d think that AEW have someone in the wings to take Bryan’s place, perhaps someone we wouldn’t expect to see debut or compete in a high-profile match at the inaugural cross-promotional show.

Either way, keep your eyes on this developing situation, I’m hoping deep-down that we get this match as it’s sure to be an instant classic.
