Katherine Langford’s Deleted Avengers: Endgame Scene on Disney+

Christmas has come early this year for users of the streaming platform.

13 Reasons Why

Katherine Langford’s deleted scene from Avengers: Endgame, where she plays an older version of Morgan reuniting with Tony in the realm of the Soul Stone, has been finally released on Disney+.

Langford’s scene with Stark is said to have confused test audiences, which is why it didn’t make the theatrical cut of the movie. The scene was supposed to happen after Tony does the Infinity Gauntlet snap, but the Russo brothers decided to go with the farewell scene between Tony and Pepper instead.

This deleted scene isn’t a part of previous releases of Avengers: Endgame deleted scenes with the Blu-Ray edition, which means that Disney has been saving it specially for the Disney+ launch. The scene is titled ‘Tony at The Way Station’, and Tony speaks to Langford’s Morgan, asking her if the sacrifice worked. Tony is uncertain and scared that he made a bad decision, but Morgan reassures him that he did the right thing. And of course we get the signature line: “I love you 3000.”

I don’t know about you, but I think the Russo brothers made the right decision in cutting this scene in favour of the one we got in the theatrical release. They gave Tony Stark the most perfect conclusion they could, but it’s also nice to see what could have been.
