Justin Bieber to Remix The Stone Roses’ ‘Fools Gold’

From pop darling to jailbird and back again, Justin Bieber’s young career has already been transformative. However, even if you are hardcore fan of the Beebs and are one restraining order away from prison, it’s doubtful that you would have seen this coming.

According to reports, Justin Bieber is going to be remixing the timeless ‘Fools Gold’ by The Stone Roses for his latest album. He might have won over a new legion of fans with some of his recent bangers, but is Bieber going to enamour himself to the fanbase of one of the most revered bands of all-time?

Speaking to NME, Bieber said:

“I am blessed to be where I am, but you get to a stage as an artist where you need to try new things, you know?

“Me and my producer were going through some old playlists one day looking for inspiration when this track comes on and, man, it was incredible. I just knew I had to put my own spin on it there and then, you know?”

“I reached out to The Stone Roses and I couldn’t believe it, they said they were huge fans of my music and would be delighted to let me sample Fools Gold. Free of charge, no royalties. That’s real integrity, you know? I mean, I am not sure if I would do the same for them.”

The unlikeliest musical pairing in recent memory could just turn out to be one of the most inspired. The official track will be released on April 7th, but if you want a taster, you can find it on the NME website.
