Just Die Already Coming To PC & Consoles Next Month

This one is a bit... out there.

Just Die Already

Double Moose and Curve Digital have announced that Just Die Already, a multiplayer mayhem sandbox, will be launching on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch on May 20th, with support for PS5 and Xbox Series X | S via backwards compatibility. There’s a new gameplay trailer too, which features plenty of virtual pensioners getting brutalised. Yeah, this is a weird one.

What Is Just Die Already?

Just Die Already tells the story of old folk who have been kicked out of their retirement home, but are given the opportunity to claim a spot in a luxurious new home if they can complete a serious of ludicrous, death-defying challenges, either alone or competitively with four players online. Just Die Already even supports full cross-platform multiplayer, so you should have no shortage of people to launch grannies with.

How Did Someone Come Up With This?

Just Die Already is the brainchild of Armin Ibrisagic, one of the co-founders of Double Moose and, crucially, a key designer on Goat Simulator. Essentially, Just Die Already is like Goat Simulator, only with old people and 300% more gory.

In a press release about the announcement, Armin says: “Just Die Already might be a fictional tale of OAPs competing for spots in retirement homes, but given the folks in those homes have food & drink, company, and – most importantly – haircuts on tap, I’m starting to think I should join then. Seriously, after a year of COVID-dodging, there’s not a single person in a retirement home who doesn’t look younger and fresher than anyone at DoubleMoose. At least we can now take on the comparatively sprightly forms of Just Die Already’s cast of characters when the game launches on May 20th.”
