South Coast star Josh Bodom has hit the worldwide headlines this weekend due to an incident that surfaced following Revolution Pro Wrestling’s Summer Sizzler event. Referee Aaren Wilde took to social media to address a non-scripted post-match assault by RPW Tag Champions, Sha Samuels and Josh Bodom. After a botched finish, Wilde was attacked by the defeated champs and was severely injured in the process. RPW has since come under fire from wrestling fans, who have called for action to be taken. In an official statement released by the promotion, Josh Bodom has now been released, and a new internal concern form has been brought into effect.

Wilde detailed how the assault took him by surprise, after a misplaced slam from Sha Samuels, Wilde was left dazed on the outside of the ring. Bodom then carried on the viscious attack with several unprotected knee-strikes and forearms on the defenseless referee. Fans in attendance first assumed that this was all part of Bodom’s usual heel antics, but as this issue unfolded, we saw that this was quite the opposite.

Revolution Pro promoter Andy Quildan was damned over the course of the weekend, with many claiming that he was refusing to release a statement or even the footage of the match on their On Demand service. Quildan has since revealed the companies stance on the matter in their official statement. Bodom and Samuels have effectively been stripped of the RPW Tag Championships, with Bodom’s career in Rev Pro also coming to an abrupt end.

Rev Pro contractors are now privy to an internal complaints form, something which can address future similar issues in a more efficient manner. Here’s hoping that we won’t have to be reporting on anything of the like in the near future.
