Heck the review-bombing.

Mediatonic and Devolver’s Fall Guys has been the surprise hit of 2020, it being the talk of Twitch since launch on August 4th. It’s been so popular, in fact, that its servers were overwhelmed by demand.

It’s clear to see why that happened when you look at how many people have already played the game. In the space of 24 hours, Fall Guys has already amassed 1.5 million players on PC and PS4.

That’s a lot of beans, countless falls, and more than enough screams of anguish, probably caused by that damn tail mini-game.

The tweet also mentions that a patch is inbound, which should hopefully address a few of the complaints. Personally, the input delay can get a little annoying — you really have to jam X down for a jump to register properly.

Still, these are very early days, something that the game’s review bombers should probably also understand. No multiplayer game is perfect from day one and as long as Fall Guys is kept fresh, fun, and, most importantly, full of beans, it should just keep rising.

Fall Guys is available now for PC and PS4. It’s available with PlayStation Plus until August 31st.
