One of the silliest but most anticipated announcements from this year was Behaviour Interactive collaborating with Psyop to create Hooked On You, a dating sim/visual novel based on the killers seen in Dead By Daylight. If you’re one of many who’ve been excited for this game to launch, you won’t have to wait any longer, as it was announced today during the Behaviour Beyond presentation that Hooked On You is surprise dropping on Steam today.

As you’d expect from the premise, Hooked On You sees the player character taking a holiday to Murderer’s Island, where they’ll be able to romance one of four killers: The Huntress, The Trapper, The Wraith and The Spirit. Players will make choices that can lead to one of several endings for each of the killers, meaning there’s plenty of replayability and content to discover.

During a press briefing about the Behaviour Beyond presentation, the developers talked about how the premise came about, stating that they wanted to ensure Hooked On You stood on its own as a visual novel. While it is a bit of a silly joke game, they’re keen to make sure the game has enough emotional and narrative depth to be considered a top contender in the visual novel space. You know, while also having sexy Dead By Daylight killers in swimsuits.

Unfortunately, there’s no news or confirmation as of yet regarding a potential console port, though during the press briefing, the developers indicated that there is room for follow-up chapters and more romanceable Killers if the demand is there. Hopefully, if there’s enough groundswell and support for it, we’ll see Hooked On You making its way to consoles too in the near future.
