Hilarious Teen Titans Go! To the Movies Poster Pokes Fun at Justice League

It appears that even Warner Brothers have realized that Justice League wasn’t exactly a perfect film, because the latest poster for Teen Titans Go! to the Movies pokes fun at last year’s underperforming superhero blockbuster. Revealed by the American cinema ticket company Fandango, the poster almost seems to be giving the middle finger to Justice League, so I’ll leave you to decide if Warner were right to lampoon their own film in such a way.

A spinoff from the popular Teen Titans Go! animated series, Teen Titans Go! to the Movies follows the titular adolescent superhero team as they seek out a director to make a film about their exploits after becoming jealous of all the other DC heroes to have had their own movies. If you’re familiar with the show, you’ll know that we can probably expect a ton of in-jokes and pop culture references, with the narrator in the trailer even having the nerve to say “if Aquaman can get a movie, anyone can.”

Teen Titans Go! to the Movies is directed by Aaron Horvath and Peter Rida Michail, and features the voice talents of Scott Menville, Greg Cipes, Khary Payton, Tara Strong, Hynden Walch, Kristen Bell, and Will Arnett (who won’t be voicing Batman). It opens in wide release on July 27, making it the fourth animated film based on a DC Comics property to play in over 1000 screens across the US, after Batman: Mask of the Phantasm, The Killing Joke, and The Lego Batman Movie.
