Hell Let Loose Could Be The Next Great WWII Game

The WWII shooter, Hell Let Loose, looks like doing what Battlefield wouldn't when it launches next year.

Hell Let Loose

If you’ve been left a little jaded by Battlefield V’s alternate take on World War II, Hell Let Loose could be the game for you when it launches into Early Access in 2019. Judging from what we’ve seen so far, it could be one to watch out for.

Here’s a new gameplay video for the project, which has been in the works since 2016 and was successfully Kickstarted in 2017.

“Hell Let Loose is a realistic multiplayer World War II first person shooter with open battles of 100 players with infantry, tanks, artillery and a shifting front line. At its core is a unique resource-based strategic meta-game that is easy to learn, but hard to master. This is World War II at a scale you’ve never played before.”

It’s clear from the footage that it doesn’t have the hectic pace of Battlefield, so it may suit those who enjoyed the likes of Verdun down to the ground. The action takes place in 50v50 battles where tactics and playing smartly are just as (if not more) important than shooting other players. It’s not about your K/D or killstreaks.

The developers, Black Matter, have promised to include a roadmap for content updates when the game launches into Early Access; no word on console versions for the game as of yet. Hell Let Loose will be published by Team17. Check out more info on its Steam page.
