Hangar 13 Hide Map Of Cancelled Spy Game In Mafia 3: Definitive Edition

Cloak and dagger.

Mafia 3

The Definitive Editions of Mafia 2 and Mafia 3 recently launched on PS4, Xbox One and PC, and while the second game in the series saw some significant upgrades, Mafia 3 has largely remained untouched. That said, Hangar 13 have included an interesting addition to the game that references the developer’s cancelled spy project.

The developers have added an Easter Egg in the game’s files, which sees a map of Berlin playable in the game, with some trickery of course. The YouTuber Sliderv2 has included a video where they explore the map, though it’s a white box version that can’t be interacted with.

The map appears to be from the cancelled project Rhapsody, which was revealed in a Kotaku report from over two years ago. Rhapsody was a spy thriller set in 80s Berlin where you’re recruited to the titular organisation. Rhapsody was reportedly built using the same engine as Mafia 3, so it makes sense that the map is featured in the game’s code. It’s also possible that Hangar 13 were looking at a way to create some evidence of the game’s existence.
