Halo: MCC Receiving Free Next-Gen Upgrade, 120FPS For Campaign & Multiplayer

Finish the fight. Again.

Halo 2

As if I needed a reason to replay the campaign of Halo 3, Xbox and 343 Industries have announced that Halo: The Master Chief Collection will be receiving a next-gen upgrade for Xbox Series X/S, meaning you can try to get over the delay of Halo Infinite by playing Halo 3: ODST or Reach, two absolutely incredible games. The news was announced via the below tweet.

When Is The Update Launching?

Unfortunately, the update won’t be available on November 10th, the same date as the new console, but you won’t have to wait too long for it. The update will go live on November 17th, and will be completely free to anyone who has already purchased Halo: The Master Chief Collection, or anyone who has a Game Pass subscription.

What Features Does The Update Boast?

Unlike Yakuza: Like A Dragon, the Halo: MCC next-gen update won’t feature “next-gen crustacean A.I.”, but it will definitely 120FPS across both the campaign and multiplayer portions of the game. On top of that, the split-screen capabilities have been improved, and the resolution will hit “up to 4K on Xbox Series X”. Hopefully, it should help Xbox’s crowning jewel look even better on the new hardware.
