Halo Infinite: All Collectibles Explained

Halo Infinite
Halo Infinite

Halo has been no stranger to collectibles over the years, but Halo Infinite ups the ante by virtue of the fact it’s an open world game. Now, there’s more collectibles than ever to discover scattered around the open world, often in hard to reach and obscure locations.

Most of the open world collectibles in Halo Infinite can be found via two methods: liberating FOBs and pressing down on the d-pad to scan your environment. Liberating FOBs acts like it does in most open world games, revealing nearby points of interest on the map. For a large majority of collectibles, liberating FOBs will reveal them on the map, making finding them much easier, but for others, it’s much harder.

Another point to mention is that during the beginning two missions and the endgame, there are some collectibles to find, but with no mission select or ability to return to these areas, you’ll have to obtain the collectibles first time around. For the most part, just spam press down on the d-pad until you see something gold, and you’ll be fine. Main missions and Banished Outposts will display on the map what collectibles are in the vicinity, so don’t leave until you’ve picked everything up.

Here’s every collectible to find in Halo Infinite.

All Halo Infinite Collectibles

Audio Logs

Audio Logs come in two varieties, UNSC and Banished, with both revealing different aspects of the game’s lore and the events leading up to Halo Infinite’s story. While some are found during the course of main missions, there’s also audio logs tied to the game’s outposts and FOBs. Each UNSC FOB has one UNSC audio log to collect upon liberation, while Banished outposts contain both.

To find them, a general rule of thumb to follow is that Banished audio logs are within the outposts, while UNSC audio logs are found on the outside. Typically, the Banished logs talk about the chain of command and events behind the scenes, while the UNSC logs are usually about escaping or surveilling the nearby base. If you’re struggling to find a certain type of audio log at an outpost, try following this while scanning the environment.

Spartan Cores

We’ve talked about Spartan Cores in the upgrade guides we’ve written, but essentially, Spartan Cores are used to upgrade the Master Chief’s core abilities. While they can be found during main missions and outposts, there are also several just scattered throughout Zeta Halo, sometimes guarded by a small Banished contingent, so it pays to explore.

Mjolnir Lockers

If you’re looking to adorn your multiplayer Spartan with some new gear, the Mjolnir lockers are for you. Scattered across Zeta Halo, Mjolnir Lockers include new cosmetic items like stances, emblems, player cards, along with armour, weapon and vehicle skins. They’re found all over Zeta Halo, but tend to be unguarded. They’re revealed via liberating FOBs, so pick them up at your leisure.

Banished Propaganda Towers

Another collectible revealed by FOBs, Propaganda Towers spout Banished nonsense to anyone who’ll listen, but you can destroy them by smacking them in their yellow core a bunch. They’re often found in the middle of nowhere, sometimes with a few Banished guarding the tower, but destroying them nets a small amount of Valor, which is very useful indeed.

Forerunner Archives

Different sections of the map contain certain Forerunner Artifacts and structures that the Master Chief can walk up to and scan. Doing so reveals a Forerunner Archive audio log, which contains more information about the franchise’s ancient alien race. There aren’t loads of these artifacts in Halo Infinite, but they’re still worth collecting.

Skulls

The collectible most associated with Halo, Skulls make a return in Halo Infinite and they’re the biggest pain to find. While are tied to the main missions, some can only be found while free roaming and they tend to be in the most obscure, hard to reach locations in the game. Worse still, they’re not revealed via FOB liberation either. If you see something in the game that looks like a pain to platform to, even with the Grappleshot, chances are there’s a Skull up there. Or, you could just wait until you unlock the Wasp and fly over to them. That also works.

Halo Infinite is available on PC, Xbox Series X | S, and Xbox One.
